A Styro Build Extension.
Styro Build is not just the preferred choice of increasing numbers of Self-builders for their new homes, but is also becoming more and more popular for those carrying out home improvements and building extensions, with a number of particular benefits.
Upon delivery the Styro Build block components are light and easy to offload and carry to the site - often at the back of the existing property and impossible for delivery vehicles to access.
Construction is also quick, minimizes any disruption caused to daily living by the building work.
Once complete, the comfort factor of the new living space with no drafts or cold spots and stable temperatures throughout the year, usually ensures the extension becomes the most popular part of the house!

This beautiful, traditional Kentish cottage was
recently transformed into a modern family home by the addition of a
Styro Build extension. |
|
Here you can see the rear extension and on the table the standard block that was used. Again the blocks have been covered with a traditional weather boarding. To do this battens of timber were fixed horizontally against the polystyrene and simply held by a metal fixing, the weather board was then fixed onto the battens. |

Workers remove old tiles to expose original facade. |

Here angle irons were used to give a strong fixing to the original superstructure. |

Furfix fixings or similar allow for any movement of the old walls when joing to the new Styro Build Blocks. |

Completely in keeping with the character of the
property, the living space in this cottage was more than doubled in size
by the addition of a two-storey extension to the left of the porch and
the addition of a second, single-storey extension to the rear of the
property.
Styro Build affords a fast and efficient method of construction resulting in a superb,
thermally-efficient home.
Furthermore, the Styro Build construction method
results in buildings that are as attractive as any other. This is
because once completed, the construction can be faced with
whatever is in keeping with the local environment, for example, brick
slips or render, or, in this example, a combination of tile hung and
weatherboarding.
Just another job for Styro Build.
